Item 08 – Xuan Xanh Laurie Linens

Courtesy of Xuan Xanh Laurie, this fine cotton linen set is 100% stitched by hand and is incredibly intricate. The Queen size set comes with a duvet cover and two European shams with the tan creme embroidery. The luxurious cream wheat pattern is embroidered onto the duvet in a pattern (shown on the photo of the bed) and in the center of each sham.

Inspired by the fusion of French and Vietnamese country design, Xuan Xanh’s designs have been featured in Bejing and Hong Kong Elle Magazine as well as sold to fine retailers throughout Asia and the U.S. Each set takes an entire Vietnamese village of women to create, usually working on the material in a central gathering place. This micro-enterprise allows them to work from home and stay with their children, while earning an income for their families.

The linens are very easy to care for, and only get better with age. The colors will never run, and Xuan Xanh recommends simply washing on the hottest setting (no bleach), drying on “air fluff” or hanging to dry, and then dressing the bed. No ironing or dry cleaning is needed, but the linens can be given both treatments if desired.

Xuan Xanh says that these are linens to get comfortable and live in: sit on them, have your children jump on them, truly enjoy the space while providing yourself and your family with fine craftsmanship. Retail Value: $1000

Current Bid: $200

Item 14 – Gift Certificate to Rough & Tumble

Courtesy of Natasha Durham, this $100 Gift Certificate is good toward any bag she creates. There is inherent beauty in something made one at a time, and here there is a commitment to the effort that this entails.
